Signed Up for a Free Trial -- What Do I Do Next?

If you just signed up for a free trial and are wondering what to do next, you have come to the right place. This page provides basic instruction to get you started and will guide you through utilizing the free trial version of the application.

The application doesn't require entry of data in any particular sequence, therefore, you are free to enter the data in any order you wish. For example, you can create a pension in Incoming Cash Flows tab before creating a Social Security strategy. If there is a cross-dependency, you will be warned with an appropriate message.

Before going any further, you may need to adjust the font size for better readability.  To better suit your preferences, you can adjust the font size to make it bigger or smaller by pressing the Ctrl key (⌘ on Mac) and the + or - key simultaneously to increase or decrease it respectively.

Entering Data

As a free trial user, you have the option to work with the sample household or create new ones.  You can add a new household by pressing the icon in the Households panel.

As you will notice, the application is organized as panels and tabs. Each panel contains its own worksheet type list of rows. More rows can be added by clicking the icon or edited by clicking the icon.  As you may have already guessed, the  icon will delete the selected row.

A row can also be edited in-line by double clicking on it. This opens up each field in which you may click to enter and/or edit data or use the drop-down list to make the appropriate selection, depending on the field type.  When finished, simply press the Enter key to save the data or the Escape key to cancel.

If you wish to hide a panel, just click the arrow in the top left corner of the panel to close it. Click the same arrow to open it from a closed state.

What do I do next?

While using the free trial version of the software, you can enter data on any screen to get comfortable with the application’s functionality and the various products supported by Income Discovery’s analytics. Only paid subscribers have access to the Social Security optimization  or the ability to optimize for income plans and generate a report. When you are comfortable with the application and are ready to begin analyzing your clients’ retirement income needs, click on the Subscription tab to purchase it.
